Our What
Our aim at Vetstar is to facilitate improved collection, analysis and use of veterinary data for One Health research and policy. We do this by organising training sessions on research and data analytics tools and methods with veterinarians, students and other animal health professionals. We also engage in research activities, independently and in collaboration with partner organisations and individuals.
Our Why
We are driven by the understanding that the veterinary profession is at the core of One Health research and policies . From preventing zoonotic diseases and non-communicable diseases in animals, to ensuring food safety and security, promoting the mental and economic well-being of pet owners and livestock farmers, protecting wildlife and the ecosystems, contributing to antimicrobial resistance research and stewardship, conducting surveillance to inform bioterrorism, epidemic and pandemic preparedness, and engaging in public health research.
